The M65 Atomic Cannon was developed in response to a request for an artillery piece
that could fire off nuclear shells. Measuring 84 feet (25.6 m) in length and weighing just
over 83 tons, the M65 required the use of two specially designed transporters.
The weapon was tested at the Nevada Test Site on May 25, 1953 - the first and only time
a nuclear shell was ever fired from a cannon. This exciting kit reissue, which is scaled from
U.S. Army Ordnance blueprints, features movable parts, seven crewmen figures and U.S. Army decals.
