About the UH-1H
Perhaps most famous for its use in the Vietnam War, the UH-1 Iroquois helicopter was first used by the U.S. military in 1959. The final Huey helicopters were completed in 1976 after production figures reached 16,000. The UH-1H was an improved version of the UH-1D, sharing the same 1400shp T53-L-13 engine as the UH-1C. One nation that still extensively uses the UH-1H is Germany, where a total of 352 UH-1H helicopters were built under license by Dornier in West Germany for the air force and army.
