- The Bf 109 Messerschmitt was first flown in 1935 and became one of the most common fighter planes in history,
towards the end of the 2nd World War production reached in excess of 33,000 units.
- The G-10 version was developed late in the war it had a larger 1,475 HP engine and heavier armor-plating.
